Raw Journal
I started this journal in hopes that my life could help or inspire someone else. Enjoy!

Mar 2007

Wheat Grass Farm:)

4 large trays of red winter wheat sprouts.

Wheatgrass root system. This picture was taken only a few days later from the picture above.

Wheatgrass ready to juice.

My Kombucha wheatgrass elixir. It looks like green beer!
Perfect for St. Patrick's Day.

Chinese New Years parade in San Francisco. Happy Year of the Boar:)

Took fairy to S.F. from Marin. It was so beautiful. I felt like I had my very own titanic moment. Without the sinking of course!

Me trying on bridesmaid's dresses cause I'm a certified B.M. for my friend's wedding. I know I thought B.M. sounded funny too!

Happy One Year Anniversary to Rawglow!

I realize that I started this journal in March of last year. I can't believe it's been a whole year. It's been really fun for me especially since I love taking digital pictures and sharing them with people. At the last raw food potluck I was showing everybody the pictures in my digital camera. Someone asked me if it was a new digital camera and I was like, "uh no not really." She thought my enthusiasm for taking pictures was because it was a new camera:) She didn't realize I'm always like that. Anyways, I have new pictures to share with you, a little late but definitely worth it:)

It's funny how there were times in my life when I thought it was over you know only to realize the best part of it was just beginning. A perfect example is that about 8 months ago I ended a long term relationship. I was actually kind of worried that my journal would suck because I wouldn't be traveling a lot and maybe my journal would be boring. I was so wrong. I realize that what makes my life exciting has nothing to do with trips. It has to do with me and how I'm always learning and striving to be a better person and how I have a genuine enthusiasm and  appreciation for life. I'm just as happy with the earth under my feet on my lawn or in some exotic local.

I saw a quote the other day that said, "The time to be happy is now, the place to be happy is here, the way to be happy is to make other's so." That pretty much sums it up in a nutshell. I'm so much happier when I'm giving of myself and serving others. I've come to the realization that my number one value above all things is kindness. Kindness in how I interact with people or deal with situations is so important to me. Never underestimate it. I've been going through a rough patch with a friend of mine being sick and even just the kindness of strangers has made the difference between me breaking down in tears or having the courage to put a smile on my face. I guess the one thing that I know for sure is that I'm a nice person and I'm starting to realize that it's a valuable quality. Wow, I'm feeling so positive about myself today and well I must admit I've had help. . .

Last month I alluded to the fact that something really big in my life manifested and well it's not a material thing, it's a person. A genuinely wonderful person, who appreciates me for who I truly am and not what I can do or do for him. It's so refreshing and beautiful. Am very happy in that department. Extremely happy. I believe again in the goodness of people and in the the power of the universe to make your dreams come true.

The reason I haven't written lately!

Am going through a lot changes this month and am trying to stay grounded and keep my head on straight. Looking for a new place to live and possibly a new job. In the past I probably would've had a nervous breakdown but after watching, The Secret, I know that that would do no good. Usually I don't deal with change well but I'm staying positive and seeing it as a new adventure and open to the possibility that things will just get better and better.

Wheat Grass Fixation

Okay, I admit that I'm one of those raw foodist people that knew that wheatgrass is good for me but didn't necessarily enjoy the taste of it. Well, I discovered that once you start drinking it everyday it grows on you and I also realized that if you mix two ounces with a 16 ounce bottle of Kombucha it really is quite good. Make sure to pour the Kombucha in a glass before you add the wheatgrass because it will foam and can overflow if you just add it to the bottle. I especially like to add it to Synergy's Ginger Kombucha. Speaking of Kombucha my new favorite flavor is Citrus. It's just Kombucha flavored with lemon juice.

Anyways the new special person in my life happens to be an expert on growing wheatgrass among other things:) More about that later, but I took some cool pictures of the wheatgrass he's growing at home.

Anyways loves. I'll write more later.

P.S. I found this funny. This a raw version of the song, "I will survive." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr4_RfJxwsU
